Full BITUSA tonight, but given the fact that no album show was ever played, I would give that my approval ( ). Besides the two tour premiere from said album, JOLE BLOND and FACTORY were premiered, both by sign request. Eddie Vedder was on stage for the first two songs, reprising Highway to Hell and Darkness, on which he sang the second verse. Glen Hansard was seen backstage, but did not perform. Also noteworthy - once again no Sunny Day (due to time), but still. I'll take it.

A nostalgic night in Melbourne, as Bruce and the band pull the second album show in a row. BORN TO RUN was it tonight. But even before, the oldies kept coming. A massive GROWIN' UP debuted on this tour with the band, including a lengthy story in the midsection, stretching the song to 12 minutes. Spirit found Bruce in talk mode again, with another long story to introduce the song. LOST IN THE FLOOD by request, and the double-shot of tour premieres with LUCKY TOWN and ROULETTE, played back-to-back after a strong BITUSA/Badlands opening. Shackles was dropped for the first time on this tour, WOASD made a comeback instead. MEETING ACROSS THE RIVER was the last song missing from BTR, and was played for the first time ever in Australia. The show also featured one of the longest main sets in recent history, with 2 hours and 55 minutes. We Are Alive to open the encore and This Hard Land to close it, make their Australian debuts on this tour. Overall the longest show of the tour - so far - with 228 minutes on stage time.

Ulkoilmassa tällä kertaa

Vihdoinkin ensimmäinen Bruce-päivä on koittanut. Team Carlton (Jyrki, Tiina, Tero ja Päivi) alkaa olla valmiina siirtymään AAMI parkille. Adeleiden settilistoja emme tarkoituksella ole lukeneet, mutta olen antanut itseni ymmärtää, että loistavia keikkoja olivat molemmat. Toivotaan sitä myös tänne Melbourneen.

Päivästä on tulossa aika kuuma. Tähän asti olemme säästyneet kovilta helteiltä lämpötilojen roikkuessa 25 asteen tuntumissa. Saapi nähdä miten tänään. Pitkä päivä kuitenkin edessä, konsertissahan on kaksi lämppäriäkin, ja kaikki olisi tarkoitus katsastaa.

Perhosia vatsassa...

Wau, mahtavaa!! Oikein hienoja keikkoja teille!

Jännitys tihenee ja odotukset ovat, hmmmmm toivottavasti maltilliset. Päivän pukukoodi on punainen, sopivasti lämppärin Hunters And Collectors nimen innoittamana, tosin joku voi luulla meitä bändin faneiksi.

Kiitos alustavista rapsoista, ja loistokeikkaa punapaidoille! Älkää paahtuko, älkää nääntykö nestehukkaan ja nauttikaa lämppäreistäkin!

Täälläkin jo pitää heräillä ja alkaa suunnitella settilistan seurajaisia koneen äärellä. Hmm, mikä aikaero mellä nyt onkaan? Tsekataan... kello on just nyt täällä pikkuista vailla seitsemän (ap) ja siellä pikkuista vailla neljä (ip), ja koska Bruce varmaan aloittaa iltakasilta, meillä siis valvotaan jo yhdeltätoista. Yritänpä järjestää itselleni koneaikaa ainakin loppukeikaksi, aloitus menee tänään valitettavasti muiden hommeleiden alle.

Siellä oli satanut puoli kahdeksan aikoihin, sitten loppunut. Pitti iso, jjvirrann mukaan pitin keskellä valomiessaarekkeen kohdalla. Eka lämppäri Dan Sultan aloitti n. 8:00.

Pitäkäähän tekin lippu korkealla, jotta ei jää Brucelta huomaamatta, että hulluja suomalaisia on Australian keikoillakin.

Oikein mahtavaa keikkaa koko porukalle!
