PETTYMYSTEN PETTYMYS. Hotellin edustalla nähtiin Bruce lähietäisyydeltä, mutta nimmaritavaroita ei tietenkään ollu mukana . Pitikin olla pessimisti ja ajatella, ettei sitä Brucea kumminkaan nyt näe.

Tuu tänne baariin, yhteiskuva Brucen kanssa varmaan onnistunee.

Sait minut lievästi kiinnostuneeksi.

Outo ykköskeikka, koska tuossa oli jo selkeästi kakkoskeikan makua. Sillä lahjalla oli varmasti iso vaikutus. Suurkiitos siis lahjakomitealle ja muille osallistujille! Mahdollistitte unohtumattoman keikan.

Teemun kommentti on erittäin osuva ja hyvä, sillä tämäniltainen oli todellakin taas jotain unohtumatonta, ja siitä iso osa liittyi Brucen ilmeisen hyvään tuuleen ja lahjakirjan arvostamiseen. Bruce siis aloitti kysymällä/huudattamalla yleisöä, että onkos teillä täällä sellainen fan club, ja sitten kommentoi saaneensa hienon kirjan ja lukeneensa siitä ihmisten tarinoita ja osoitti jotakuta eturivistä todeten tunnistavansa ainakin hänet siitä kirjasta, ja sitten tuli This Hard Landin omistaminen meille. Eli hieno juttu kerta kaikkiaan: This Hard Landia ei ole varsinkaan bändiversiona montaa kertaa koko kiertueella soitettu, ja nyt me saimme kuulla juuri sen! Ja muutenkin tämä tosiaan oli vähän kuin kakkoskeikka: rentoa meininkiä ja käsistä lopullisesti lähdössä oleva settilistan alkupuolisko. Okei, keikan jälkipuolisko oli sitten aika lailla tutumpi ja arvattavampi, mutta meno oli siinä vaiheessa niin hyvää ja sekä bändi että yleisö vauhdissa, ettei sekään haitannut. Tämä oli taas toisella tapaa ainutlaatuinen ja -kertainen elämys kuin vaikkapa viime kesän Helsingin keikka tai viime lauantain Friends Arenan Darknessin läpi soittaminen. THL:n ohella omia huippuhetkiäni tänään olivat erityisesti toivebiisiputki From Small Things, Pink Cadillac ja Brilliant Disguise sekä crowd surfing. Kumma juttu, miten sitä innostuikin Brucen kantamisesta. Ja ihan omanlaisensa juttu oli se Queen of the Supermarket -soolo. Ainakin minä nauroin sille ääneen ja nautin täysin siemauksin hauskasta versiosta. Huomenna sitten jatketaan, sitä jo odotellessa!

Muuten keikka oli hauska. Tähän tilanteeseen - outo kaupunki (todella) ja ei edes loppuunmyyty sali - juuri oikeanlainen keikka. Nyt pidetään kivaa ja annetaan palaa. Annettiin.
Edellä onkin mainittu aika yllättäviä biisivalintoja. Encore oli vähän turhan varma, mutta kun Bruce oli yllättänyt meidät kaikki (?) saamalla koko Turun tanssimaan, oli hyvä vetää varmalla konseptilla loppuun. Siis oikeasti, siirryttyäni kakkosrivistä taaksepäin aloin seurata myös istumapaikkojen menoa ja siellä oikeasti jorattiin kunnolla. Upea ja yllättävä näky. Bruce on ihme mies. Tekee hyvä todeta tuo. Väsynyt, mutta onnellinen Bow päättää tähän.

THL, River, Thunder road, From Small Things, Brilliant ja veretpysäyttävä, yllättävä veto Queen of Supermarketista.. Mitähän sitä huomiselta edes enää uskaltaa toivoa Kiva oli myös se pittiä kiertävä lava, me normi seisomakatsomon etuosassakin oleilleet päästiin näkemään Bruce ja bändi pariin kertaan ihan läheltä. Hieno oli myös nakkihallin tunnelma kun jopa firmakatsomoissa noustiin ylös useampaan otteeseen. Ihmeen paljon vaan oli tyhjiä penkkjä eri katsomoissa. Tämän jälkeen ei edes haittaa välähtänyt nopeusvalvontakamera Loimaan kohdalla kotimatkalla, ei onneksi ollut kun reilu kymppi ylimääräistä

Kyllä oli taas mahtava keikka ja pitissä se fiilis vain tiivistyi. Aivan mahtava homma että Taapsa sai huuliharpun siitä kaikesta mitä on tehnyt meidän muidenkin eteen, kiitos vielä. Toivottavasti tuo ja bakkäri korvaavat osan vaivan näöstäsi. Liisakin sai kiitosta lippujen postittamisesta kun Pinkki tuli, ympäri pittiä kuului 'hyvä Liisa' huutoja, hienoa yhteishenkeä!!!

Oli vähän niinkuin isojen, hauskojen sukujuhlien tuntua, me kaikki siellä ja lisäksi se yksi meidän hassu kaveri tuolta Atlantin takaa.

Tää on kyllä osuvasti sanottu, just tämmöinen fiilis oli ja on. Oi mahtavuus!!

Voi hyvänen aika sentään. Johan sitten jo toista kertaa foorumille kirjoitan ja vieläpä 24h sisään. Pitää nyt kuitenkin tulla tilittämään näitä tuntemuksia. Ensinnäkin kiitos teille kaikille puuhaihmisille, jotka olette jaksaneet jaksaneet ja jaksaneet. Hieno kiitos siitä tuli tänään illalla ja kyllä kostuivat ainakin minun silmäni, ihan puolestanne joo noloa. Mutta siis olen about 30 vuotta haaveillut siitä, että olisin Brucen konsertissa silleen edes niin kuin edes auttavasti edessä bilettämässä. Nyt olis sitten kolmas konserttini (2003, 2012 aikaisemmat) ja paikalle pääsin vasta klo 15 korvilla. Seurasin hämmentyneenä sitä mahtavaa jonoa joka marssi "takaovelle" ja foorumin kuvausten perusteella arvasin mikä jono se oli. Pienen epäröinnin jälkeen liityin jonon jatkoksi ja kukaan ei varmaan ollut yllättyneempi kuin minä, kun iloinen täti tuli käärimään ranneketta käteen. Sitten olikin soitettava kaverille, että sori... menen pittiin, nähdään konsertin jälkeen. Siis vau. MAHTAVATA. Minä. Keskellä pittiä. Epätodellista. Ja niin upeaa. Kipeä selkä ja kyynerpää unohtuivat kokonaan ja kolme tuntia meni kuin siivillä. Niin ja kun olin jo sulatellut sen asian ettei sieltä keskeltä varsinaisesti hiplata Pomon buutseja tai mitään muutakaan niin sitten hää surffaa ja toki juuri oikeasta kohdasta (hyvä peba oli). WOU. Aika monta asiaa tapahtui mitä en olisi osannut ennalta arvata. Olo on niinku ja sit Just nyt ketuttaa ettei millään pääse huomenna vaikka kääntäisi maat ja taivaat. Olen siis kiitolline tästä.

Niin ja KIITOS Liisalle pittiohjeistuksesta Ensikertalainen onnistui niillä ohjeilla!

Hieno ilta. Hieno ilta. En muistanut, miten pieni se hallipitti onkaan, vaikka vasta puoli vuotta sitten olin sen kokenut.

Ja onpa noudettu toiseen keikkaan numero 37. Hallissa ei näköjään ole jollain yli 75:n numerolla eturiviin mitään asiaa, joten siksi hengailin tänäänkin pitissä takana keskellä.

Aivan mahtava fiilis oli yläkatsomoissaki:-) Vaikka alussa järkkärit ei oikeen meinannu tajuta mikä keikka on kyseessä... Tulivat huomauttelemaan tanssiville ihmisille, että pitää istua nätisti. Onneks Bruce itse puuttui asiaan kehottamalla porukkaa nostamaan takapuolet ylös! MIELETÖN MENO JATKUU HUOMENNA!!! Ku malttais nyt vaan nukkua:-)

Let's have a party in my Pink Cadillac

After a flight back from Sweden, where I saw the two first Solna shows, I just visited home to dump a heap of dirty, sweaty clothes, take some clean clothes, kiss my husband, get the car and then I was off to Turku for the next pair of Bruce Springsteen shows.

The folks who were not in Sweden had started the pit line days earlier and now I got #83 on my hand. Not bad, but as the HK Areena is really small, just about 10 000 people, the stage can't be very wide and so that doesn't guarantee a spot on the front rail for me. But never mind, I'll be in the pit once more! Now it is Sunday afternoon, and so let's hang with my friends for the next two days here in Turku.

Show day! Gee, this ice hockey arena is REALLY small, and gee, there indeed seems to be ice under the floor as it is so cold. No problems, we are anyway in the pit in the second row a the corrner of Steve's catwalk and this is a good spot. Unlike in Sweden, now I can see straight to the stage and I don't have to look a the screens. Besides, the screens look smaller than normally and are much higher than I've ever seen, and so they aren't exactly useful for me this time.

Oh look, here they come already! It isn't even half past seven, and like in Solna #1, they start with We Take Care Of Our Own. Ok, but I hope that this doesn't mean that we get a copy of that show now. But no worries, next song is Two Hearts and then No Surrender, which was one of the most expected songs when we listed "this song I really would like to hear in Turku" on our forum. It is followed by My Lucky Day, wow we are rocking now! But Turku audience is a little stiff - uh, make that VERY stiff and Bruce is clearly now working hard to get these folks to warm up.

Wrecking Ball is followed by Death To My Hometown, and when Bruce starts Hungry Heart and goes to the lane between pit and rest of the floor, I wonder if we will get the crowd surf - oh yes, there he goes! I think that Nils had to grab Bruce's collar in the end to get him back to the stage, but otherwise it went smoothly and it did its main job: the audience is clearly getting warmer. Spirit In The Night Keeps on heating things up, and keeps on giving close encounters with numerous fans. (touch touch... mmm, sweaty arms!)

Now Bruce starts talking about fans and it took me a while to figure that he is talking about the BOOK. We Finnish This Hard Land forum members collected our own stories about what his music means to us and gathered them to a book, a real printed book with hard covers and lots of photos. A copy of this book was delivered to him in Stocholm and this means that he really got it and he has even read it! And that means, yes, finally we get This Hard Land here in Finland, dedicated to our fan community! Extacy all over the arena, as nearly all of the 500 members of our forum are naturally present tonight! Stay hard, stay hungry, stay ALIVE!

That was immeadiately followed by The River, which is probably the most loved Springsteen song in Finland and the audience really cheered loudly when we recognized the first harmonica sounds. A long falsetto part in the end of it.

Now Bruce smiles and says "Let's see what you've got" - and that means that it is request time! Quickly, here's my dear old Pink Cadillac plate, let's raise it high! It is a little torn as this is already its 6th show and Bruce has even once stepped on it, but never played it to me. Here he comes, yes closer, YES! He points my sign, comes to the corner of the catwalk and says "I'll take that one" and there old Pinky goes with nearly 10 other requests.

What will he play now? Probably more than one request. Now he takes a big plate (white and too stiff looking, it is not Pinky), and it turns out to be From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come). Oh, how fun! This is something I've really wanted to hear for years! How cool! Now he goes to the pile and picks another one, still too dark to see its color but it isn't stiff, could it be... Now it is in light and yes yes yes, it is indeed PINK! It is my dear Pinky! Bruce shows my car drawing to the audience and to the band. I haven't written anything to it and I see Bruce mouthing to the band "pink" while pointing to the cardboard and "cadillac" while stroking the car and now they really do Pink Cadillac! Again, hugs and high fives all around and as so many of my friends recognize my Pinky, there are even some "way to go Liisa" shouts from others parts of the pit. My pit buddy Laukku says "Pinky went home" and that means flood gates open.

The next request is Brilliant Disguise, oh wow! So nice to hear something from ToL album! Request slot ended here, and there goes Because The Night with a cool solo by Nils, and then there is She's The One. Let's clap the Bo Diddley beat now!

Bruce points the audience on seats and tells that now he is not going to tolerate that sitting, let's have a proper dance party! Here goes a very funny Pay Me My Money Down, and Bruce indeed seems to be able to get every ass up, look at how the people are really dancing even high up there! When the song reaches the part where it normally ends, Bruce first arranges all the band (except Max and Roy) into a long line, then comes to my catwalk and gathers 6-7 fans and adds them to the end of that band line, and marches that dancing, playing line all the way around the pit! At least two THL forum members were in that line. How fun is this!

In Darlington County Bruce drags Nils around the pit lane, another fun song! Shackled And Drawn follows, and Bruce again makes audience to take part by singing. Turku is clearly warming up. Waitin' On A Sunny Day is an audience favourite. the singing kid sings very well, and his dad is naturally yet another THL forum member. Another kid from that family sang the same part last summer in Helsinki!

The Rising follows, and after it Badlands before a beautiful Land of Hope And Dreams ends the main set. Oh, look at those hands now! Bruce just said the normal "Let me see your hands" and everybody even in seats is now doing jazz hands, this looks lovely!

After bows Bruce goes to the middle catwalk and picks still another request (again made by one of the THL forum members), and that's - oh oh - Queen of the Supermarket! No band on stage, hey he is really doing this solo acoustic, what a surprise! (Hey no complaining there, I think it is a funny song and this solo version is even much funnier than the version of album!)

The rest of the encores are more normal including Thunder Road (oh how I love those horns in the end!), Born To Run (during which too many pit people run out to get good pit numbers for tomorrow's show), Dancing In The Dark (but have you ever seen anyone dance with Bruce like that? And after it play guitar and take poses like that? Right, another THL member on stage tonight.) Finally, we end this funny and rocking show with a happy Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, which included band introductions.

That was a show! It was not related to Solna shows but kind of a younger brother of Helsinki 2012 with lots of surprises in the set list and a very loose feeling. But as this was only the first night, what on earth could we get tomorrow? We'll see, but now it is time to go to bed so that I have energy tomorrow to queue again! With number 124, I'll be in the pit again.
