Hi, folks in Finland and abroad!

The Ghost of Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band live at Henry's Pub, Tampere, on 31 July, 2014

These all-finnish fellows have been performing Bruce Springsteen's music a few times each year for nearly ten years by now, and have gained substantial popularity among finnish Bruce Springsteen fans, playing both at private occasions and in bars and clubs of various sizes. Here's a review of their latest bar show of last Thursday night;

They kick off the show with an energetic quality routine performance of 'Wrecking Ball', nicely warming up the crowd from the very first second, everybody clapping and happily swaying along with their friends. No shy Finns in sight, at all! 'Badlands' follows, and the front row of the crowd begin line-dancing and singing along! The band are playing just like the real deal, and we're oh, so well aware, that "it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive!!!!", as we hear 'Prove it all Night' as the third song of the night. <3<3<3<3 Massive public transportation re-arrangements have been a hot topic of great controversy all this summer in Tampere, so it's no wonder at all, that we hear 'Does this Bus Stop at 82nd Street?' next! Again, an early song greatly loved by Finns! Quite a time-trip back to 1975 and Hammersmith Odeon in London, atmosphere-wise, though most of the songs are more or less "too" modern. The fifth song of the night turns out to be an enjoyably well-played 'I'm on Fire', allowing us to catch a breath and just listen and love every second of it! 'She's the One' inspires some people to wild, primal, tribal-style dance moves as the sixth song. Song #7 is an ever-wild and jazzy, awesome 'Spirit in the Night', to be followed by what at first seems and sounds like a lovely album version of 'The River'! The later half of the song, though, highlights in an unforgettably intense, long organ solo that actually lifts up this epic performance sky-high on its angel-wings, headed towards the stars! <3<3<3 What a night! Ninth, we are happy to hear 'Promised Land', and we're all clapping and dancing. These guys most certainly have been rehearsing quite a while! It's pretty much as good as the real thing! As the tenth song they play 'Two Hearts' full of heart and soul, and the sentiment of the moment hits the ceiling and beyond! We are allowed to catch a breath for a few minutes and enjoy a soothing performance of the ever-lovely 'My Home Town', only to go wild again when the guys play 'I'm Going Down' in full throttle! The next song is the only one NOT written by Bruce; 'Summertime Blues', a hot, fun version of a classic rock'n roll tune. The fourteenth song is a must; 'Born to Run' played with fierce directness and dedication!
After a couple of minutes' break, we hear two more songs; a good version of 'Streets of Philadelphia' with hardly any surprising elements, and the grande finale of the night is an awesome, wild 'Glory Days', and the band members call it a night, as we've been having a very hot July this year.

All in all, these guys take their tribute to the next level, I find, as they have retro-style band gear, and dress the seventies-way. It's not only the awesome songs they play, but also the awesome way they play them, that makes them a unique Bruce Springsteen tribute band in Scandinavia. Last but not least, Saku sings a whole lot like Bruce!
